The Operations Room is manned by sailors of the Radar Plot (RP) category led by the Direction Officer. Sailors of the RP category are responsible for collecting, collating and display of sensor information to the command, actioning command decisions and passing information to other ships and aircraft in company. The Direction Officer has completed a Principal Warfare Officer's course and is a qualified air controller.He is responsible to the Commanding Officer for the efficient running of the Action Information Organisation and watchkeeps as either the Principal Warfare Officer or the Anti-Air Warfare Officer
