HMAS Canberra Commissioning Crew Reunion at the Decommissioning 2005
The first Reunion of the Commissioning Crew was conducted in 2001, a part of the Reunion was conducted in HMAS Canberra where a Cocktail Party was held onboard hosted by the Commanding Officer, Commander Roger Boyce RAN, a Reunion was held in 2005 when the ship decommissioned and was hosted by Commander Ray Leggat RAN who involved ex-crew members in a final searide on the ship, the Decommissioning Ball and Ceremony and a Reunion was held at the Geelong Naval Association prior to the Ships scuttling in 2009.
The Ships Company is what makes the Ship and the comradely and mateship by successive crews in HMAS Canberra made it a great ship to serve in over its entire life. A testament to this is the enthusiasm and willingness of the past crew to reunite, people have travel great distances from overseas and interstate to attend past Reunions.
The next Reunion will be held in Queensland in March 2011 to celebrate the ships 30th Birthday, this Reunion will be open to anyone that served in the Ship...More

The Ship conducted its final searide for Family members of the Decommissioning Crew, it was also the last opportunity for Commissioning Crew members to go to see on HMAS Canberra, the ship departed Fleet base West and sailed to Fremantle, the HMAS Darwin crew manned the side and gave HMAS Canberra 3 cheers as the ship pulled out of Fleet base West...More
