HMAS Canberra 2011 Reunion

The HMAS Canberra 2011 Reunion will be held on the Sunshine Coast QLD at the Maroochy RSL 21-23 October 2011. http://www.hmascanberra.com/news/reunion.html

The Reunion is being held for all personnel, partners and guests of the ships company who served in HMAS Canberra 1980-2005, it will be a great opportunity to join in celebrating the Ship’s 30th Birthday with the fine people who served in her.

Many Thanks to the folk, who have registered their intention in attending the Reunion, so far 84 people have indicated they are attending the Reunion including 4 from the USA, I am hoping that we have at least 200 people will attend.

Personal Notes

Many Thanks for your support this year; the website has had a remarkable 700,000 hits this year and will be celebrating its 10th year on the Internet in 2011. The site has assisted in the organisation of 4 x HMAS Canberra Reunions since 2001 and kept us in touch with many former shipmates and friends.

This has been tempered with the sad passing of four off our fine shipmates, Vale Phillip Skimmings, Bevan Taylor, Nigel Coates and most recently Gary Williamson. “All wonderful ship mates who will be sadly missed and remembered”

Garry Williamson will be having a send-off in Sydney at the Harbord Beach Hotel – Freshwater at 1400 on the 08 January 2011. All are welcome to remember Gary over a beer.
